Professional Diving Career

     Although Freddy's competence and knowledge in all aspects of recreational scuba diving and environmentally related issues are second to none, professional development and the training of the new generation of true diving instructors and educators is his definite specialty and where he excels the most.
     Freddy has been training Divemasters since 1990 and Instructors since 1992. All has been active or are still active within the recreational diving industry with 100% safety records, meaning with no accident reports.
     He believes that patience, safety, generosity, commitment, and students focused teaching, are the prime qualities for a modern diving educator. Freddy has shown throughout his career and human relationship with others, that he did put all of these core elements into practice to become certainly one of the most respected worldwide Instructor Trainer today.
     Through Freddy's training and coaching, one not only become a safe and competent diving educator, but also become a very well aware dive professional, ready to commit him/herself into a successful career where patience and dedication will certainly be needed to obtain the rewards of "safely train the general public to skin and scuba dive and preserve the environment", as NAUI's mission states.
     Arthur "Dusty" Rhodes, the father of NAUI and scuba diving in South East Asia and Freddy's mentor once said: "...for Freddy, teaching diving is not only a job, it is a mission..." It certainly is, and a way of life too!...

NAUI Professional Development

     Through the years, Freddy has become the most internationally active NAUI Course Director and from regular Instructor Training and Crossover Courses run in Phuket, Thailand, went to run an international network of professional development courses in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and now the Caribbean, and Canada. Staff for the Instructor Training are coming from various places such as: Canada, US, UK, Bulgaria, France, Romania, Belgium, Sweden, Lebanon, Japan and Thailand, certainly making Freddy's ITC the most international ones on the market!
     Consult Dive International has developed ties with leading NAUI facilities and service providers in the key regions of the world.
     Freddy is now the Course Director and program coordinator for NAUI ITCs and Instructor related workshops and seminars in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with NAUI Pacific rim, Varna - Bulgaria with the European Diving Career Institute, Beirut - Lebanon with the National Institute for Scuba Diving, Phuket - Thailand with Kata Beach Dive Shop, Tortola - British Virgin Islands with Aquaventures BVI, and finally Kumamoto - Japan with Consult Dive International, and Tsukada Diving Services.
     Programs are divided in two different options: regular Instructor Training Courses with Preparatory Course on a 10 days format for already certified NAUI leaders or equivalent.
     And the "Professional Carrer Program", which will take an experienced Advanced Diver up to Instructor training and certification in a very intensive training program covering core courses, dive centre internship, leadership and instructor training and coaching.
